Annual Rides 2026

Throughout the year, Tripleshot organizes several one-day rides that are adventurous and highly anticipated events. The dates are announced through Spond and our social media channels a few weeks ahead, but the general schedule is shown below.

Support ranges from ferry tickets and food, to just organizing the ride and providing all necessary logistics through Spond to ensure riders have a good time. Interested members should sign up well in advance, so the club can provide the right amount and level of support for each ride.

The rides are fun and social, but are also as much of a workout as you want, with different pace groups to suit all abilities. They all include at least one food stop where you can get off the bike, take in some calories, and get to know each other a little better.

The schedule below is subject to change and refinement, and is for reference only.

Three Ferries Ride

Late May/Spring

A long but social day in the saddle: Our annual tour of the Cowichan Valley, Salt Spring, and Saanich Peninsula is appropriate for all speeds and abilities and includes quiet roads, food stops, and gorgeous views. Usually run counterclockwise: Victoria–Brentwood Bay–Crofton–Vesuvius Bay–Ganges–Fulford Harbour–Victoria.

Silly Summer Solstice Ride

Late June

It’s pretty silly: 100 laps of Beacon Hill Park loop on the morning of summer solstice. With plenty participating each year, this ride has become a classic.

Canada Day Ride

July 1

A long ride to celebrate Canada’s birthday and enjoy a great day on the bike with friends, with the distance matching Canada’s age (160km in 2027). An excellent opportunity to build fitness for the Big Loop later in the month or for late-summer fondos like Tour de Victoria and the Whistler fondo. This is an unsupported ride, but the route includes several convenient opportunities to resupply with food and water. Red and white attire is encouraged.

Big Loop Ride

Early August

An epic road ride that’s a rite of passage for local riders. Leave at 6am and cover upwards of 250km with a vehicle tagging along to provide nutrition and mechanical support. Usually run clockwise: Victoria–Sooke–Port Renfrew–Lake Cowichan–Duncan–Mill Bay ferry–Victoria. Or opt to return via the Malahat if you haven’t had enough hills yet.

Great Trail Gravel Ride

Late August

The Great Trail (aka Trans-Canada Trail) is a hidden gem, a groomed gravel path sneaking over the Malahat to Shawnigan Lake, entirely off-road. Starting with a humbling and steady 400-metre climb, the route offers fun descending with great views of the Saanich Inlet to the historic Kinsol Trestle near Shawnigan. Taking a mix of trails and pavement after the trestle, the ride continues to the Mill Bay ferry to make a loop of approximately 100km.

Ride 2 Remember

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation; September 30

Honour the Indigenous heritage and history of our community with a social-paced road or gravel ride that takes in points of Indigenous significance around the First Nations of Greater Victoria and finishes with a gathering and brief talk at Power To Be.

Late May (Early Spring)

Silly Winter Solstice Ride

Late December

Almost as silly as the summer version: 60 laps of Beacon Hill Park on the morning of winter solstice. With dozens of riders participating, it’s decidedly more fun than it sounds.
