Who Are We?
Tripleshot is a group of dedicated, fun-loving cyclists who range in age from 10 to 80. We also run a world-class youth program that has produced provincial, national and international champions at the junior and elite levels of road, mountain and track cycling.
But most of us are just here to start the day with a Victoria sunrise, feel the wind in our faces, have a good workout and enjoy coffee with friends. Most rides start at 6 a.m. (see our Rides page for details).
Tripleshot's unofficial motto is, "the most important person on the ride is everyone else". If you want to ride Victoria's beautiful roads and trails and meet interesting people, with a priority on supporting and cooperating with your fellow cyclists, give us a try!
Our road rides are defined by pace, with A being the fastest and C the slowest. A rides are "drop rides" - no wait-ups if you can't match the pace. B rides are a little slower, "no-drop" rides that regroup after climbs and sprints. C rides are slower yet, and are a good place to get comfortable if you're new to group riding or just want a more relaxed pace.
We also offer gravel rides in different paces. CX_1 is for beginner off-road riders, and CX_2 to CX_4 offer progressively increasing speed and technical terrain. No one will be dropped from a gravel/trail ride, but participants should pick the pace group that best matches their abilities.
A few formalities before you join us
-
Helmets are a must! Also, it's the law.
-
If the roads are wet, fenders with rear extender flaps (almost to the ground) are mandatory.
-
On gravel/trail rides only, you may ride any safe off-road-capable bicycle (gravel/cyclocross/mountain), and fenders are optional.
-
If it’s dark at any point on a ride (including on the way to or from the meet-up), lights are required: white on the front, solid red on the back. No flashing lights in the group, please.
-
Bring a spare tube, tire levers, air and basic tools to take care of yourself in case of a mechanical.
-
To ride with Tripleshot, you need insurance through Cycling BC, a Tripleshot membership and a Spond account (our ride-planning app). Details are on the Become a Member page.
Be sure to introduce yourself when you come out for the first time. We look forward to riding with you!
Tripleshot acknowledge that we ride on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We are grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy, learn, and share in these beautiful territories.
See you bright and early!
