I've also added a PDF of the route I used to put together just to give people a view of the routes, different legs, profile and planned ferry schedules for the day . As interest and the size of the group grew we added a few challenges which turned out well. The first two years the route to Crofton didn't change but on the 3rd year we tried a different route around Quamichan Lake. The 5th year we changed the last leg on Salts Spring and didn't make any stops and just went from Vesuvius to Fulford and liked the fact that it shortened the riding day. I've never done it in counter clockwise direction, but have to say that given the narrow roads between Mill Bay and Crofton it's great to ride these in the morning when there is little or no traffic. Has the club ever considered doing this route in the opposite direction? In the past I've organized this ride going in the opposite direction and found riding up to Crofton early in the morning to be great from a low traffic perspective. Also, the ferry schedules line up really well with time for a coffee at Crofton and Fulford Harbour. The ferry schedules in this direction also work well to accommodate from A to C level rides, and finishing the last leg by coming in from Swartz Bay is such a nice way to end the day with a flat ride into town.
