A message from the Government of Canada. In a nutshell: bikes are still permitted on the Hill (only up to the U-turn sign!) during business hours and for a limited time on Saturdays. No bikes on the hill any other time! This will obviously affect our Sunday rides and any of us who use the Hill for training.
Hello All,
Due to the rising concern of fire risk and the extreme dry weather we will be closing our site to the after hour public access until further notice. The pedestrian gate will be locked with no after-hours access as of July 7th 2023. Please respect this decision as this could result in detrimental circumstances to all who love and enjoy the site.
The main gate will still be open during regular business hours Monday- Friday 7 am to 5pm. And Saturday from 10am to 2:45 to accommodate the Visitors Centre hours. After such time people are required to leave the hill as there will be no alternative way to exit the site. All site rules are still in affect at this time. Cyclists are still to stop at the first stop sign and use the parking lot to turn around. All hikers are still asked to remain on the pavement, asphalt, hard pack until further notice. At no time is smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes allowed on site.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and please direct any questions my way.
Thanks
Derek Mann
