This week, Alan Sang, the owner/sole employee at The Savoury Cafe on Oak Bay Avenue is raising money for the Oak Bay worker, Steve Seekins, killed last week while on the job. Coffee is by donation, with all funds going to the Seekins family. Seekins was an auxillary worker with the District of Oak Bay in the Engineering & Public Works department when he was killed. He has a daughter at Willows, and son attending Monterey Middle School. So if you are looking for a coffee shop this week (May 23-25) after your ride, please think of The Savoury Cafe.

Monday night (February 29) Oak Bay Council is considering making Henderson a full time bike lane as opposed to the part time 7-7 it is now. Councillor Carrie Smart needs Council chambers to be filled with cyclists who support this motion. Be great to get a huge show of support out there for the cycling community.
